paintings

When I was 18, in the classroom I started a sketch, I made it in ink and liked it, a friend of mine and classmate, Alin Brandusescu wanted to buy it, with only a very little bit of money. I did not sell it to him, but I started with a second sketch, now using characteristic elements of my colleagues. So I made a set of portraits, and started to like how the lines combine themselves for me. At the end, I was also surprised, it was like in life, your action and thoughts take you Somewhere, but only later you find out Where. So I enjoyed this game, and besides, it started to be Interactive, because, as they say ìAs many heads - as many ideasî people kept on finding new topics in same sketch.

It was natural then, when I started University, to continue drawing, now in black ink, then I had the exhibition with Nicolae Popovici - good friend of Constantin Grangure (my uncle), with around 35 graphics.

Later, the Lines took me to a painting shop, where I bought oil colors, actually that time I only bought Black and White, and some brushes and oils. So I made a few paintings, I use to paint on anything, and now I still have my Very second painting, that i still like it a lot. But black and white was not enough, so I got blue, now i do have some works in black - white - blue, and later red and yellow. Finally I could create my îworldî of not only lines this time but more complex, and every time I am taken to a different place, every time I learned something more. These times I also opened many art books, I visited my uncleís workplace a lot, place where many artists come, sometimes small exhibitions take place, other time just poetry reading, mostly listening some Jazz, sometimes tasting some beer with the host-artist Constantin. After collecting some paintings on Canvas, we made another exhibition, again me (surreal painting) with Nicolae Popovici (sculpture). It was a good one, the Director of the gallery Paul-Eugen Baciu held the opening ceremony speech.

Then I came to Japan, one year with a scholarship STEP-TUAT, many times in night I used to paint, or in weekends in park, or in temples, or simply on the street. Even I gave to people some of the work I did that time, I collected about 30 paintings and with the support of Vilarat Nuch Sutthiratthanasopob and Kunieda Masanori and Virgil Stoica, and combined with singing of Tomoko Sato, we made a Personal exhibition in Japan, in Fuchu green plaza gallery, we had a very nice time. Then later, I participated to a group exhibition, along with 10 Asian artists.

Going back to Romania did not stop me from painting, au contraire, I painted îstronglyî not as much as I did before, but I tried to let my îlinesî have a more Thought way. I mean, I searched some deeper meanings, larger links, and more dramatically bridges.
